THE REVOLT OF BALI PEOPLE

The name of the figure is I Gusti Ketut Jelantik.

The war happened in Bali. It happened on 1846 until 1849.

The fight happened between Bali people and the Dutch Colonial Government.

The cause of the war is the Dutch refused the Tawan Karang right. The right stated that the Buleleng empire could seize the ships which casted at Bali shore.

The result of the war is Bali or Buleleng empire fell down into Dutch’s hand

THE REVOLT OF BANJAR PEOPLE

The name of the figure is Prince Antasari.

The war happened in Banjarmasin (South Borneo). It happened on 1859 until 1863.

The fight happened between Banjar people and the Dutch Colonial Government.

The cause of the war is the Dutch government intervented the Banjar empire’s internal affairs.

The result of the war is the Dutch’s eliminated the existence of the Banjar sultanate.

THE REVOLT OF BATAK PEOPLE

The name of the figure is Sisingamangaraja.

The war happened in Tapanuli (North Sumatra). It happened on 1878 until 1907.

The fight happened between Tapanuli people and the Dutch Colonial Government.

The causes of the war are

1) the Dutch introduced the Christian religion

2) the Dutch wanted to reign Batak land

The result of the war is Java land fell down into the Dutch’s hand.

THE REVOLT OF JAVA PEOPLE

The name of the figure is Diponegoro/ RM Ontowiryo, he was well known as the Gua Selarong hero, assisted by Sentot Prawirodirjo, Kyai Mojo

The war happened in Magelang,Tegalrejo, Yogya. It happened on 1825 until 1830.

The fight happened between Java people and the Dutch Colonial Government.

The specific cause of the war is the Dutch built the road acrossed his family’s graveyard.

1) Western culture was considered to break the Moslem culture

3) The Dutch determined the high taxes to the common people

The war happened in Acheh. It happened on 1873 until 1904.

The fight happened between Acheh people and the Dutch Colonial Government.

The causes of the war are

1). The Dutch intervented the Acheh trade and shipping

2). The Dutch carried out PAX NEDERLANDICA

To defeat Acheh the Dutch sent Dr. Snouck Hurgronye to research Acheh people with his book entitled The Atjeher

The result of the war is the Acheh fell down into Dutch ‘s hand ( Plakat Pendek )

* Teuku Umar died, Cut Nyak Dien was alienated to Sumedang till death

THE REVOLT OF WEST SUMATRA/PADERI

The name of the figure is Tuanku Imam Bonjol was assisted by H. Miskin, H. Sumanik, H.Piabang

The war happened in Padang (West Sumatra) It happened on 1821 – 1837)

The fight happened between Padang people and the Dutch Colonial Government.

The cause of the first war was opinion difference between the Paderi and traditional people. The cause of the second war The Dutch wanted to rule West Sumatra.

The result of the war is West Sumatra land fell down into the Dutch’s hand ( Plakat Panjang) and Imam Bonjol was alienated to Cianjur and moved to Manado till death.

THE REVOLT OF MAKASAR PEOPLE

The name of the figure is Sultan Hasanudin, he was well known as The cock from the east (Ayam Jantan dari timur), assistaned was Kraeng Galesung.

The war happened in Makasar It happened on 1654 until 1667

The fight happened between Makasar people and the VOC.

The cause of the war is the Dutch carried out the trade monopoly

The result of the war is Makasar empire fell down into Dutch’s hand ( Bongaya agreement)
